We know that a high priority for business owners is to maximize advertising budgets. ROLE Magazine understands that everyone is best served when substance is offered in place of hype. For this reason, we began the ROLE Magazine Truth in Advertising initiative.
Why is this an important and ground-breaking decision?
ROLE Magazine publishes monthly in both in-world and online format. ROLE Magazine online is published with the ISSUU – You Publish platform and allows us to provide detailed data on the number of times each issue is read. As a courtesy to advertisers, we provide the number of times an advertiser’s ad page has been viewed on request.
ROLE Magazine counts and publishes our in-world views separately because there is no way to know if a magazine delivered by an in-world group or kiosk was actually read by the recipient. ROLE Magazine understands that business owners realize the advantage in knowing the number of times an issue was actually read not the number of times a copy was handed out. As any experienced SL resident knows, it is far too easy to artificially inflate in-world readership statistics by simply clicking multiple times on a magazine kiosk with a bot or merely editing the hover-text of a kiosk server (in the description field).
